They are used extensively in the creation of hospital beds and cots, where they are mounted at one end of such devices and installed in a way that they can transmit commands to some distant point so as to control aspects of the unit as automatically as possible. These electrical controls can range from light switches to security systems like motion activated lights, bug zappers and insect repellent.
