Electric control units are used in technologies that have to do with automotive entertainment systems, alarm systems, and other low-voltage applications where remote dialing, adjusting the power on appliances, or similar all can be done with a few buttons. They are used extensively in the creation of hospital beds and cots, where they are mounted at one end of such devices and installed in a way that they can transmit commands to some distant point so as to control aspects of the unit as automatically as possible. These electrical controls can range from light switches to security systems like motion activated lights, bug zappers and insect repellent.

They distribute circuits for audio video distribution (differing from voice coil displacement which only carries electricity) matched with motorized microphone pickups for speaker equipment which is centrally controlled by integrating ECUs with digital processor logic controllers (testing) from commercial retailers.
